There are some Tories that are actually quite hard to dislike. Kenneth Clarke is one. He's just spoken the first solid piece of sense of the evening. He's admitted that the LDs will take more votes from Labour than the Tories and that the way people vote across different parts of the country makes any extrapolation from the results so far meaningless.
